I joined CT three years ago. I have wondered if I have used my 9 Cattle Today lives yet. If not, I must be on about the 7th or 8th. Given the proclivities of my values, standards and philosophical beliefs, I feel rewarded that I can contribute and participate in a predominantly conservative Christian culture. It is difficult to validate perception, but it is my perception that there has been a subtle change in the tone on this forum in the last 3 years. For example, it was nice to read the recent open discussions on racism.

The forum has a central theme - cattle, but it fills a need for entertainment, a cerebral kind of entertainment. This forum provides a place to explore and develop our thoughts. We form new ideas and we validate the old. In this entertainment, there is a wonderful experience that is difficult to have anywhere else. I appreciate being here. Thanks to everyone for being part of my day.

From the old Pagan, May everyone have a safe, happy and blessed Holiday.

CT is one of the top five comedy sites on the internet. Many people don't realize just how funny it is in the midst of the earth shattering proclamations and epic disagreements. Never corresponded with anyone I wouldn't enjoy meeting in person. Even the Missouri Mafia...maybe. Hahaha

Now that is a laugh to start my day. Already had a couple. Thanks.

I hope my friend Kris is not part of the Missouri Mafia. :D

Missouri Mafia is also known as the Missouri Hereford Association, with branch offices stretching west into Kansas like a gerrymandered congressional district.

I've been here a little while now too, it is entertainment and education in one place.. I've learned an enormous amount from the folks here and I think my herd looks a lot better now than when I first came here.

I am constantly amazed by the depth of knowledge on this site. Every time I log in I learn something. Sometimes I wish I could contribute more but usually I am content to sponge the facts from those that know.

I agree. I've learned a lot here. Not all of it pertained to cattle. Like everything else, the site has changed over the almost 10 years I've been around.

I joined this forum last May. I have learned a lot and enjoy it very much. I love to look at the pictures that are posted of cattle. I also enjoy hearing about your families and the great looking dishes that you prepare. I get a lot of good laughs that brighten my day and words of wisdom to help me along my way.

Thank you for letting me be a part of this forum. I wish I could change to Calflady46 so all of you would know that I am not a man. That is the name that I meant to use.

May God bless you and your families. One day maybe I will learn how to post a picture.

That, is one thing I've had a few problems with on this board--distinguishing the gender of the members. I've been on the internet since '99/2000 but this is the first cattle board I've joined. My other boards were either car or military related.
For whatever reason, (male chauvinism?) I just never realized how many female cattle producers there were in the world, and how incredibly knowledgeable and experienced they are. In that respect, CT has been a real eye opener for me.
