Red anus

What causes cows rear end to be this red

Possibly a prolapse of the rectum ?

The neighbors calves came over and I saw two calves with the red anus. I had never seen that before

Had a cow a few years back that did that every time she laid down . Would go back when she stood up . She took the one way trip to the sale barn .

With calves a lot of times it is from the calves riding cows in heat. Bull calves usually.

And I agree with rectal prolapse.
