Does anyone have any working knowledge of the following bulls; Chateau, Major League, Lancer, Merger,or Enterprise. I am especially interested on information about breeding these lines to heifers, how heifers and or cows from these lines performed as mothers and if there were any red flags with a certian line. I will be crossing with gelbviegh cattle so milk is not an issue with me. I can look at epds, but I would like to here from those who have used or been around these bloodlines. Thank you for any information.

Chateau daughters for us have been very functional productive cows. Major league I would watch for his daughters calving ease. Which Lancer?

Would this bull be a problem with heifers?

To me he is a terminal bull and nothing else. For heifers you want a CED at least 8 or even higher. and when you look at the CEM that should tell you that you probably don't want to keep any heifers out of him either. He has good maternal numbers otherwise but Cherokee Canyon kills the CEM.

If you are looking for a calving ease RA bull call Julian at Steadfast Beef and buy some semen from his Boaz bull. I have Gelbvieh heifers bred to him right now and will sleep very well. His CED is 15. Here's what a calving ease RA heifer bulls pedigree looks like.http://search.redangus.org/animal/1158668

We've had feet problems with Enterprise. It seems with him, our cow's feet were pretty soft and would crack easily. They would also tend to walk more on the heels rather than up on the toes. We haven't used any of the other ones in direct matings.
