Recips ???

I was wounding if you have a twin heifer calf, know if its a bull the heifer will not bred. But can you use her for a Recip cow.
 
My guess would be NO. She is probably going to be a free-martin and not breed. Although some will. Slim to none chance on getting her bred.
 
Flushing and doing embryo transfers are expensive and that is not even taking into account the cost of the embryo if you had to purchase it.Why would you risk using something that is probably not viable.For recips the best thing to use are the most fertile animals and that is good cycling heifers and when I say a heifer I mean a 13-16 month old female that has never had a calf.Before any recip work is done get all animals checked by a good cow Vet to ensure that she is cycling and everything is working as it should.If an animal can not get pregnant even by bull exposure NEVER try to use it as a recip.
