Recip Cows on Feed

We've set up alot of heifers for AI and had good luck. We're new to setting up recips though. We'll be setting some up right away and was wondering if anyone has had good luck dry lotting recip cows until they're implanted? They would get good quality alfalfa and a bit of oats to keep them gaining. We have others cows on grass next to the facilities and we're not sure how well sorting them off everytime we have to give them another shot at 6am would go.

Due to the time of year we want our recips to calve they are all dry lotted or running on corn stalks and coming in at barn or lot every day for feed.
It works good for us.
Don't forget their mineral when you have them dry lotted. I'd probably force feed it to them with their oats.

Probably not a bad plan, it is a real pain having to sort them from the main mob more than once.

I would recommend synchronizing everything to AI or put in embryos at the same time. The shots are the same and the heat detection would be the same.
