Thought I would share some recent pictures. Spring is definitely here now. Grass is starting to come the last week or so, but sure could use some rain to really get it going. Would be nice to start hauling out some pairs & stop feeding so many...especially now that seeding has started. Soon hopefully. Just about done calving now, I think it's about 25 left to go. Quite a few look pretty close, but there's a few that will be stragglers.
Anyway here's a few pictures from the past couple of weeks, in no particular order
1st calf RA heifer doing some babysitting
These pairs agree - +30 C is way to hot for the beginning of May! These are all pairs out on a combo of stubble/pasture. 20 less we have to feed everyday.
They don't look like they are starving out there
I thought this action sequence was pretty good:
Sold this big guy a couple weeks ago. Hated to see him go but he crippled himself fighting last December. Could hardly walk and was pretty much completely non weight bearing on one rear leg. Thought we were going to have to shoot him & make a pile of hamburger. Had a couple people tell us that an injury like that would heal up good enough to salvage him but that it would take a lot of time. 5+ months later - it wasn't pretty when he walked, but he got around ok and seemed sturdy on his legs. We took him to the sale expecting to get somewhere between 80-90 cents for him, he brought a $1.15. That's a whole lot better than burger!

As always, thanks for letting me share.
