Calf in the 2nd pic looks like a mini Hereford. Stout, squat & chunky. And I agree, C-section mama looks great!!! Raising a darn nice calf.

She was really tight besides having a big calf. Not sure we would keep her.

Likely the calf is his own uncle nephew, the heifer came off a Reserve in February.

Dave, do you keep many that you do C sections on? If you do what success rate do you have on them breeding back and calving without problems?

Think 50% breed back. Most never have an issue. The way this particular heifer is built she won’t be having another calf.
