We had two inces of rain yesterday/last night and it's still falling. :D :D The temperature is down a bit (50 or so), but it's supposed to warm back up in the next few days. I do believe that I can hear the grass starting to grow. :!:

That same system is headed our way and should be here by noon. Could get a little rough. Don't need the rain as our place is already a virtual swamp.

I'm not a virtual swamp, I'm a real swamp. It just keeps raining. The radar screen looks like a surreal John Deere. All yellow and green. And the sky is gray. I'm getting that SAD disease.

the rain hitt here bout 3 this morning.but it didnt rain all that much.lasted about 2hrs.it sure looks like it could let loose raining anytime.

BB, you folks didn't get blown away last night did you? FW weather was showing some funnel clouds over in the NE Texas area.

no TB we didnt get blown away.it barely rained here at all.lost power for a second then it was back on.woke me thundering then i went back to sleep.

Started around 8 last night, hasn;t stopped yet. Around 3 1/4 inches so far and no end in sight. Thegood part is that it's a steady rain with very few cow on a flat rock spells thrown in. Water is running but it's not running so fast as to erode badly. Saw about a dozen ducks out swimming in the middle of a pasture this morning.
The last time we had a wet spring we had a terrible drought as soon as the rain stopped. Can hardly wait to see what Ma has up her sleeve this year.

The roads around us are all closed because of flooding. Up on this ridge it's just muddy.

After four and a half months of steady rain (what we call winter in the Northwest) I am ready for spring. I can tell it is on the way. A few weeks ago it shifted from cold rain to luke warm rain. I can hardly wait for nice warm rain or even better yet that bright light that shines out of the sky when the clouds go away.

One of the reason we left the Puget Sound area. No intentions of ever going back. Not even to visit!

Started raining gently about nine this morning and by noon, I bet it rained at least four inches. Flooded out the yard and washed away my freshly planted garden! It is still raining.

I said I needed a little rain, dadgum it! Stop already! :stop:

I'm sorry about your garden, Lammie. But I don't believe I can ever say "stop, rain" (even though I know that what I say has nothing to do with it.) :D We've just had too many dry years.

Dun,

It is actually a nice place to visit..... in August. But then I seem to remember you lived up in the Skagit area. They get more summer rain up there than we do at the south end of the Sound.

I have not planted palm trees in 3 years and wouldn't you know it after I just planted 3 twenty five footers last week, the wind is blowing 40 MPH. Not holding up too well. Go figure.

I have heard rumors about this. It is said that the light produces heat, also. That some botanicals get green. Produce a useful growth. But, it may just be a rumor. I think I saw that light once in January.

John,

You saw that light in January!!!! So it really does exist? It has been so long since I last saw it I was beginning to think it was just a dream. One very fine dream.

honestly, if it didnt rain here until june i think we would be alright. its so muddy here. you can easily make 2 foot deep tracks in the yard. its absolutly miserable. it really needs to start drying up or there might be some issues getting the crops in. only about a month before farmers start getting ready. its going to take every bit of that to dry up.

We are 6" down according to the statstics. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what the worse was this past week end. It look like we will see tomorrow as it is expected here then.

It was supposed to "get here" around 4 a.m. Fed the heifers and ran out to Limestone County to show a ranch.. it was still windy and upper 70's after 1:00. By the time I got to Waco, it had dropped to 56 degrees and was raining like crazy. It's been raining on and off since then.. about 3 inches here. They are predicting it will be over by morning. I won't complain.. even though it will be a muddy mess here in this lovely blackland prairie for a few days.. I'll take the rain whenever we can get it.

Same here! I don't wish to complain, however am I ready for spring! The last I checked the mud was ankle deep, now that was going in head first though! Now the forcast is for snow today and tommorrow. Oh well, this too shall pass!!

A month or so we had burn ban and some grass fires now I don't know if i'm going to be able to cross the creek to the north place to check and cube cattle.
I sure did welcome the rain though, amazing how things greened up in one day.
Momma's are gonna cut way back on their hay eating.
