Rain

Since Saturday @5:30pm, I've gotten 5"-most of it late Sat night very early Sun morning. Been pretty steady light rain today tho. You'd never know it rained looking at the ditches and low spots so I guess it's soaking in pretty good.

last rain was the last couple days of June. Have gotten about 1.5 inches since Sunday morning. Would be nice to get a little more.

We have not gotten near the rain like others. I checked 2 places about a mile apart Sunday evening and they had just gotten enough rain to settle the dust but not make tracks. I went about 5 miles down the road and took off thru the pasture and it was muddy. Almost got in a bind.

I ran up 37 thru George West to Pleasanton this morning. They have had 3-5".

We are not short of grass but it's pretty burned up. Sure hoping we get some out of this deal to rejuvenate the grass. I've held off spraying scendaros until we had could get some moisture.

Same here . looks like more coming
I'm fixing to close this money maker down and hit the river.

You out of catfish already?

Woke up to 72 degrees and a nice slow rain and it's still the same. Hopefully this will last thru tomorrow like some have said so it will keep me from having to put out hay.

I poured 2.8" out of the gauge yesterday evening. I had around 5" about two weeks ago, so there's water standing everywhere. But I'm not complaining. I still remember 2011.

Send all rain you don't need to NE Georgia. I haven't had 2" since May. Have had a few good showers a couple of weeks ago and started turning things back green but it's still dry and we're still feeding hay. Haven't seen it this dry in a long time.

I feel your pain neighbor, at least we're working on 4" since May. The heat is what's killing us.

in my part of Virginia we have had more regular rain over the summer than I can ever remember....

I have taken to jotting down the reading on the rain gauge every morning....we have had nearly 10 inches in the last two weeks or so....

and hot....bouncing around a hundred degrees nearly every day and 90 plus % humidity....make you sweat while taking a bath...

typically around here we are hot and dry in late July and August and everything is shades of tan and brown...normally we are looking south for a hurricane to bring us some drought busting moisture....this summer it has been storms about every two or three days with plenty of rain and everything is green and growing...hay guys are hating life...they are struggling to make hay without getting it washed...

storms have played havoc with the electric grid as well....neighborhoods around the city of Richmond have been taking a beating and as soon as they get the damage from one storm cleaned up and the next storm comes along and knocks stuff down again...

one guy told me last week to let him know if I needed any cow hay as he had plenty that was wrapped to wet because they knew it was gonna rain...the guys around here are growing hay for the horse market....

my buddy up in Buchanan is getting more rain than we are by a factor of at least twice as much and more often

My septic distribution box went out. Had it pumped so I am living on borrowed time until I replace it. Tough to do with the rain.

The weather pattern changed here at the end of July, we have had rain averaging every other day. With the cold spring and then wet May, the corn got in late in early June. Its short with the dry July but has recovered nicely.

We're still hurting for rain in NE Georgia but have had some storms and showers after the 8-9-10 weeks of nothing at all.
I walked the herd across the yard yesterday evening to eat what's left of the fenced garden that played out.
As I said before.....
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for some rain today!

Last two weeks we are at 11 inches get about an inch a day.
74 inches so far this year that is 14 inches above our yearly norm.
Yep. I got 3/4" yesterday--ground is still pretty solid most places tho. I sure wish I had put down some fertilize early August.

Turning green again. 3.25 over the last 4 days. Cows are liking the cooler weather too. Had a cow I was trying too put wheels on for 6 weeks. To danged smart to get trapped till yesterday. :)

We are not having any luck at getting rain. It's east and west of us and everything that's pushing up from the south seems to die out at the county line. We are still under a quarter inch since this event started.
