Today I was coming back from the ranch after picking up my uncles tractor with the post pounder. Just came off willow hill north of Rawlins when it started raining. I have never drove threw a rain that bad, was more than just buckets, more like barrels water coming down. I could not see the road, ended up crossing the centerline because I could not see where the road was. The only reason I knew I crossed it was I heard rumble when I crossed those rumble strips in the middle of the highway. I had already slowed down some before the downpour started, but had to slow down to a crawl. It was like that for several miles. Once I got home we didn't even get a drop here in Riverton.

Well darn. It sounds like one giant cloud was just setting in one spot and not moving in the right direction.
Yea, I have never seen it rain that hard around here. It went from being able to see fairly good to not being able to see in an instant. Visibility 30 to 50 feet at best. I could have very easily drove off the highway because if it. I slowed way down and kept going until I drove out of it. We didn't get any rain at home, but it did rain a little last night. I was planning on raking my hay today, but looks like that is going to have to wait until it dries. Just enough to mess up the hay.

Hopefully it dries quickly, and the next rain you get is timed better.
As much as I appreciate the coastal fog, there are times when it slows up the haying projects in this area.
A lot of people have switched to doing what they call ensilage, the white marshmallows, and that simplifies
the whole haying process here where drying conditions are not always favorable.

My hay should have been cut weeks ago, but due to breakdowns it never got done until this week. I finally had to have a neighbor cut it.

I got most of mine baled. Still have about 10 acres to bale yet. I had to stop last night because the moisture was to high, tried again this morning, but it was still had to much moisture. I'm going to go out this evening and try to get the rest of it done.
