Ok, most of you have seen my other thread on tractor problems and now we've decided to get a different tractor. We don't want to buy new, but on the other hand, we aren't sure as to what important questions to ask on buying used.

Other than the routine questions, what special considerations should we ask about when buying used?

well you want to know how meny owners the tractor has had.if the motor tranny or hydrolics have been overhauled.try to see if the hours are oraginal.or if the hour meter has been changed.also ask about the front wheel bearings.

Thanks!

How many hours would y'all consider is high?
depending on the age of the tractor the hours should be around 3000 hours.now those hours would be on a 5 to 8 yr old tractor.you can get some like new tractors with 4000hrs on them.

I found out the hard way about a power shift on a MF, if it's out, it WILL free will, no engine brake..... one heck of a ride, I will not soon forget  That error cost me more in repairs than the tractor cost. But I love that little tractor... now it works great!
