I just watched a show on Discovery Channel or something about Florida cattle ranching. It showcased Lightsey Cattle Co. Carey Lightsey, one of the owners was telling about the history of Flrodia cattle ranching and how Ponce De Leon brought cattle in the 1500's he said that the ones that escaped crossed with wild buffalo. Do Florida cattle today have buffalo in them or was those ancient type florida cows kind of like the cracker cattle? I wouldnt figure that todays florida cattle would have buffalo in them.
