I have seen many ads for this product. Havn't heard much from producers though. Would it help steers being fed free choice corn w/alfalfa hay. I guess I would like to use it if it would help deter acidocis. We had one steer just get it and it was not a fun time. Thanks for the help.

I have used it, mostly in the feedyard. That product was called impact finisher. I did not have good luck at all. The cost of gain was outrageous, the cattle took forever to finish. However, with what your talking about I have a better attitude about. These products help the animal to consume small amounts of grain at a time, hence, the ph within the rumen does not fluctuate, which helps preserve efficient digestion of thier forage. If they were fed a salt limited grain, They would more likely consume all of their daily share at one feeding, therefore changing the rumen ph and disturbing forage digestion.
