Has anybody been trying the Purina Concept tubs? I have heard alot of good things about them. They are supposed to add body condition to a cow or heifer, and they are supposed to aid in the rebreeding process of first calf heifers. I bought two tubs last Wednesday, and put them out for my 25 heifers. The guy ay the feed store said I should see an increase in their body condition in as little as two weeks.

I'm not familar with the Purina concept tubs but you've probably been a little oversold on how quickly you can see body condition change. Depending on the maturity of the animal (heifers vs. brood cows) moving from 1 body condition score to the next can be as little as 50 lbs and as much as 75 lbs. 2 weeks is probably too optimistic thinking they will gain 50 lbs. of fat. You want heifers to grow but you want muscle gain not just body condition. You can get 3 lb daily gains if you want to go to full feed.
