Anybody using or have any knowledge of cattle pseudoephedrine supplements? Can't find a whole lot of info on the web. How much/how often do ya use it, and is it safe?

My initial reaction is "bad idea". A few years back *I* was taking human ephedrine supplements (before they banned it) - gave me a ton of energy for most of the day, but extra cranky and extra tired in the evening. Got real high pulse, sweaty and dehyrdrated. :x

Pseudoephedrine is an allergy medication. It is different from ephedrine that was banned (I believe) due to heart attacks, occurance of death in the people who where taking it for energy, stamina, etc. Why would anyone want to feed it to cattle?

I've heard it's part of some cattle nutritional supplements. My motivation to use it would be to get 'em to buck harder and spin faster. But not if it causes any kind of side effect (which I suspect it would).

Has the same effect as "speed". Not a good idea to take OR give to cattle. ;-) :cboy:

Pseudoephedrine was a major ingredient in over the counter cold medicines that was banned about 4-5 years ago. It was causing Heart Attacks and Strokes. I would think a buckin' Bull that was worth a nickel would'nt need any tweaking. I d be hunting me a new stock supplier. ;-)

Pseudoepedrine is the active ingredient in Sudafed, and is still used.

Correct, the two are different medications. Pseudoephedrine is still available over the counter, but many states are beginning to put restrictions on the amount bought, as it is a common ingredient in the making of meth. Buy enough for a bucking bull and I suspect you might be in for a visit from the law.
