PSA. meteor shower tonight and Friday night

Help Support CattleToday:

Moon may be a little bright but it still should be ok. Probably not here though. Been raining here for 3 days.

I intend to watch some of it as I still get up in the extreme single digits of the morning hours. In fact I might even get to see it from the seat of the boat bobbing around on Kerr Reservoir. I'm compiling a list of wishes to memorize as we speak.

I've watched from out in the Gulf before. It can be a real show at times, if conditions are right.

I had planned to camp out at the farm tonight but it's raining hard right now and looks like it will be tonight too so probably be too cloudy to see it anyways.

Always the best one of the year.

Every August, just when many people go vacationing in rural areas where skies are dark, the famous Perseid meteor shower makes its appearance. The meteor shower peaks overnight tonight and early Friday (Aug. 11-12).

I've been keeping it quite but the wife just found out. She never misses one of these dam things. Reckon I'll fish tonight.

I have watched them since I was very small, after listening to my great grandmother tell of seeing one in the 1800s that was a 'meteor storm'. I can still remember her saying "We thought all the stars were coming out of the heavens that night and went inside to hide from them".
It may be clouded over here tonight. :(
