We plant a lot of hardwood trees and shrubs for wildlife and timber production and use tree tubes and mats to protect them. We just finished planting 18 acres and there are some hogs nearby. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to protect the trees from hogs.
And yes we shoot every hog we see.

Land mines?
Attack Donkey?

Actully I can only think of is either putting heavy gauge fencing around each tree, or high power electric fence, and I mean high!

I can't think of any economical way to keep them out. There is a spray that you can dip onto a rope that goes around the perimeter that I've heard works well but I can't see how this can be economical in your situation.

Pepper might work , they mostly move at night so you can't shoot'm all . Shoot by day trap by night , I hope you like sausage .
