Profit & Cow Cost

Since tax time is past did any of you good Book keepers notice a big drop in your per cow profit this last year? Much difference in the figures seeing how the 3 F's (Fuel, Fertilizer & Feed) made such a big jump.

Did you see a very big increase in Cow cost over last year or year before?

Lucky that the big three are areas that you can reduce if you manage things right. One thing BSE did up north it taught you how to pare costs to the bone overnight.

Our costs per head was down 3% will income per head while the average sale price per calf was up about 2.5%.

It helped us that we increase the amount calves sold.
