powdered colostrum

i put it in a big measuring glass. stir the crap out of it with a spoon. pour it into the bottle, shake the crap out of it. then i go look for the nipple with the big hole in it.

The only stuff that our feed stores supply is in a powder form and it is mixed with 2 pints of water. It mixes very easily. However my vet curses the manufacturers of this "colostrum". He claims that it is a waist of money.
We do have some stored from previous cows that we had to milk anyways right after calving. We store it in the freezer. Slowly warm it up in a double boiler and serve. Does anyone else do this? It is all our vet says you can do. We still have used the store bought powder. We don't tell him that. He is a grump. His way or the highway.

What he doesn't know won't hurt him. :lol2:

I do keep a bottle of extra colostrum in the freezer from a fresh cow, haven't had to use storebought stuff yet.
