I have a heifer soon to be cow in mid March. She is reg. hereford. After she calves we will work her up to about 15 lbs of grain. Before re-breeding her back (AI) what meds does she need. Wormed? Also what does the calf need to be vaccined for?

15# Grain? That's nearly 1/3 of a 50# bag. Seems an awful lot to me unless you're trying to get her FAT. Me thinks your cow needs quality hay and minerals more than grain...jmo.

Vaccinations? Those appropriate for your area...especially blackleg and some other critical ones...check with your Vet. De-worming...yes...always 2X year...(at least in our area).

I'm sure others on the board will have more suggestions for you...

The suggestion of the 15 #'s of grain was that we will be showing her cow-calf this summer.

I will also contact the vet.
