Which is better for conception percentage, or does it even matter? I have two options. I can keep them penned up by themselves for a few days or dump them out with the herd. There's no bull running with the cows that is old enough to breed, so that's not an issue.

As long as there is not undue stress post-AI, I would pasture the serviced stock in the manner that they were pastured pre-AI.

That's what I was thinking. I thought it might be less stressful on them if they were with the herd and not stressing out being isolated.

Definitely want to avoid any unnecessary stress. Also penning them when on heat can lead to injuries.

I have always returned the cows to their normal routine after breeding since that seems to me to be the less stressful. I also try to keep cows as stress free before insemination as possible. Seems to work well for me.
