Poor heifer?

Just bought a 7-8 month old Holstein heifer for cheap. She is pretty under weight and has a slight case of lice. She has been and rye grass and has the runs too.She Acts heathly just doesn't look it. I wormed her and gave her a round of antibiotic. What do y'all think? Did I screw up taking a chance?

Nope. Being on the green grass may be the cause of the squirts. Pour her with a external parasite pour on and wait and see how she does.

x2...i was thinking some first cutting. The rye can be pretty rich in protein, might be running right through her.

Nothing wrong with taking a chance. Give her groceries and she will be fine. I did the same thing with a Longhorn cow last October and she has really put on some weight and that has been on hay. I cant wait to see what she does when this green grass gets going.

While on rye give her hi mag minerals. She definitely needs minerals and the mag will stop or slow the squirts.
