The Iceman & his little brother Twakkie. I rescued them, will try and find 'before' pics.

Hey!
That's my cat Oscar! World's Best Cat.
(except as a stud, as I had him neutered before I realized his greatness)

Oscar sort of has a South Africa connection too.
I named him after Oscar Pistorius and named his sister Reeva after the girl he killed.

ohh, poor things definitely look like they'd had a rough time of it.
I know they are much happier now :tiphat: You done good, girl!
Iceman looks rough, but relieved.
Twakkie looks ticked...like someone made him take a bath :lol2:

Did they have cat flu? My oldest cat has had symptoms since about 8 years old (she's been vaccinated all her life) and the vet said nothing could be done about it.
 
Every cat we've ever had here was a feral cat that showed up here from the National Forest. By the time they showed up here, they were wise to the world. Some tamed easier than others, but most were in good physical condition and all stay outdoors, hunting all night and sleep most of the day.
Survivors for sure...feline instinct for domestic cats is not much different than that of the big cats.
Cute I suppose, but make no mistake, they are killing machines first and foremost.

Nice to see you posting Rego.

They both had a bacterial infection in one eye which cleared up quickly after
treatment of topical ointment. They didn't show any other signs of flu.

I hear they can be carriers of the virus but never show any signs...sorry to hear about your cat. Antibiotics may help?
 
Oscar is a great strong name... and he's a killer... now that it's warmed up again for hunting
the dry cat food he ate in 1 day now takes him 6 days to finish.
Although if I had known what an explorer he was going to be I would have named him Columbus.
And I think Reeva is a pretty name.

I've always been a dog guy, but Oscar has taught me to appreciate cats.

I think so, to me Gertrude and Bertha are not pretty names and if I had been a girl my name was
to be Belva, in honor of a family friend.... my younger brothers and I dodged a bullet there. :)

My last cat was a big tom, just showed up one day, friendly as heck, FEARLESS (his undoing, must have gotten caught by yotes), but he wasn't scared of taking a big rat either.. was a great mouser.. Miss him, he was a heck of a character
