Perhaps we should start picking all politicians like we pick jury pools.......

Let's gather a few hundred people together and start picking out people to actually SERVE in office. Serve time in office like you would serve time in prison. Make it where it's not optional, you must serve your time. That time might be 6 months, it might be 2 years. After your time has been served, then you go home and live under the laws and conditions that you create. After your service, you will never be called upon again, and can never serve again under any conditions.

No more pandering, not enough time to get in bed with the pacs and lobby people, not enough time to collude with other people serving, just do your job and go home.

Serve like it was in the past. Sacrifice to go and serve your country.

We wonder why we have so many people on the public dole? Just look at the career politicians. They have been on the public dole all their lives. Why shouldn't everyone else be too.

Why do congressmen and senators spend MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars for a job that pays only a few hundred thousand dollars? Why is Obama expected to spend 100 million dollars to run for an office that pays less than a million dollars?

Why, why, why? (And don't we all know the answer to this...)

No - McCain will spend all that the "public" finance system allows. But Obama is not participating in the "public" financing. Both are ungodly, but Obama will spend more.

Good point. Even term limits wouldn't solve the problem although I think it would help. I think the two political parties have too much power in funding there pics for political office. I also think the media has become very biased in their coverage of politics in general.
