Pole barn 12" posts what size auger ?

If they are true 12" posts, use a 12" auger. If not, use a 12" and use a long handle shovel to widen as necessary. The more you can minimize the empty space in the hole, the better.

Of course, you can always rock the auger itself back and forth and make a 12" hole into a 16" hole.

I'd use the 24". It's a lot easier to build a straight wall if you have some wriggle room. Use a 12" and your barn will blow away, you can't tamp around a 12" pole in a 12" hole. gs

I was going to use the 18 and make it 4 feet deep and put pea gravel in the bootom then use maybe about 2 bags of concrete in the hole then tamp the rest with dirt is my plans.
