If someone gets banned from this site but is still a member, can they still send and receive Pm's while there banned? I have several people on here I pm often and it's the only way I would know how to contact them. With my far right and bible based opinions, you never know how long I'll be around, so I may need to gather some contact information.

You never know. I'm not planing on it, but i don't really back down on things I see as wrong, I try to not get involved most of the time but sometimes I get pulled in.

There is a point in not backing down and taking things WAY too seriously. Sometimes I think people need to get roped back into reality that this website is not going to change the current issues of the U.S. it is not going to change someone's opinions on subjects more than likely and FOREMOST... This website wasn't created to show how big your INTERNET KAHOONAS are and to become a Keyboard Gangster. The website was created for people with the same interest to get together and chat PEACEFULLY without B.S. I am pretty sure no one loses any sleep from things someone says on the other side of a keyboard that you never seen before and chances are if you did see them you wouldn't be so boisterous. If you fear being kicked off then you definately are not using the site for its intended purposes. I am a member on several sites and never got kicked off or banned and honestly this is the only one I heard of that happening.

To answer the original question, someone that is banned can not log in. That prevents them from PMs or viewing the forums other than as a visitor so they can not post but can read.

The thing is, I don't think it always takes bad intentions to get banned.

A lot of good folks have been banned, or simply quit on their own at another site I visit that tends to be somewhat trigger happy on the ban button. Other folks have also been banned that well deserved to be.

IMO, the "trigger happy" site ban policy has resulted in both diminished quality and quantity of discussion.

I don't see/foresee that happening here.

I'm pretty sure you can just give yourself a new name and try again. We'll all figure out that it's you pretty quick. ;-)

It also requires a new email address. That's why it takes a while for someone to get a new acct after they've been banned 4-5 times, have to find a new email provider.
