Took my grandson out this weekend plinking with his .22. Quickly ran out of bullets so off to Wal-Mart we go. You guessed it, rationed. No shells in stock, truck not due in until Sunday, purchase limited to 3 boxes (150 shells). Boy, Osama sure stopped this terrorist and child killer dead in his tracks. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: Used this emoticon because it says "bang". Go ahead and take it down. Felt good to vent a little.

Here borrow my gun---- it never runs out of bullets.*

Saturday evening I stopped by the local sporting good / hardware store that usually has the best supply and stock of ammo. No 22 at all, no pistol ammo of any caliber. They had a few boxes for some of the most popular rifles 30-06 etc. But no 30-30, 270, 243 and some others. And they have their usual boxes of odd ball stuff 6.5x55 Swedish, 303 British, 257 Roberts, etc. Not much of a run on the odd ball stuff because nobody has a gun to fit it. Normally the rifle and pistol ammo is one either side of this one row of shelves. It is probably 30-40 feet long. Shotgun ammo is half of the other side. Now both rifle and shotgun shells take up less than half of one side and there is lots of empty space on the shelves.

Toilet paper, coffee, gas, ammo take your pick. As soon as the shortage word is used, rest assured there will be one. It is amusing to watch people buy there limit of ammo that is for guns that they do not even own  People are a strange group if you just stand back and watch quietly 8)

Humans in general, are panicky/hoarders. As the population gets farther away from agriculture, this seems to get much worse as people lose all their sense of rationalizing things. Like mwj said, stand back and watch out
