Sunday the WLs said clear through next friday. Layed down about 6 acres sunday (got a new baler and wanted to test it out on a small area before doing everything). Yesterday put down another 6 or so acres of clover OG for small bales. It was so humid last night that I think the stuff was wetter then when I cut it. But not now! Got about an inch of rain in the last couple of hours, 3/4 inch in the first half hour then just a steady rain after that. Guess the old tedder is going to get a lot of use this week. Now they're claiming we could have thewse "showers" through friday but claer next week. I think I've heard that song before!

Heck I would be real happy if all I had down was 6 acres
I laid down close to 125 saturday and part of sunday till I blew a CV joint about 11a.m sunday morning
tedded some sunday afternoon and baled 200 bales on 24 acres yesterday, moved over to another 65 acres and was just getting ready to start baling and here comes a t-storm from the friggin North EAST
went and tedded about 12 acres today and just got thru when bam another T-storm blows thru so I have about 100 acres of hay getting wet for the 2nd time right now

SO pass the cheese

Ya never start a job on a Friday.......and best not to touch hay equipment on Sunday. :)

Oh, also, anyone gripping about getting rain ought to have a dirt clod throwed at 'em.......

We are about 6 rains behind. :frowns:

I also cut about 15 acres to make sure everything is working ok. Hope to get it up tomorrow. Looks like your rain will be here Friday but we need it. Over 5" behind so far.

The WLs did something silmilar here. I have 20 acres down and we were not forecasted to get rain until next week and now forecasted today and tomorrow and high humidity today. I will have to hire a neighbor to help me bale so I can have two baler going so I can get done.

What are you whining about Dun I didn't get fertilizer down till last week much less hay on the ground. We have had a spring drought here in the rainforest. Neighbor has put half his cows on my place as his grass is gone.

I just hate using the diesel to run over a field multiple times. Last year we had one field that was down for 2 weeks before we got it baled. Ran the tedder over it every day to keep it from rotting.

I got 4 miles of river levy still to cut, seems like every time I get on the tractor it starts thundering. It has come an afternoon shower every day this week, and one was an inch and a half. I need to get finished with this so I can bale 130 acres of wheat straw that will be ready in two weeks.

I bet that made some poor bedding. :lol2: I also had hay rained on this past week, they don't forcast the weather worth a damn in Ohio either. Wouldn't it be great to have a job that you could be wrong day after day & stay employed............I guess we could send all the weathermen to Washington ,they would fit right in .
