Plans

you're goin gto be better off with just buying one. if you build one most likely it will be flimsy, and it will be a work in progress for a couple years. the metal for it costs about 300 bucks and then another 50-100 for all the changes you make. and then all the stress you go through. so i would say just buy one

If you build one, it better be a barn only model. You can't build one light enought to carry to shows.

I just was givin a used blocking chute but I havent got it down to my place but some one else I sold a calf too is a welder and works with fencing and that sort of thing and I was told by the family If I get the plans they would build me one and their son as well thats why Im searching

Built two for my barn one morning. Doesn't take long if you have the know-how. Also built a portable one which we just sold. If you have access to drill pipe, materials are pretty cheap vs. $600 - $700 for a new one. The two in the barn are permanent, and strong enough to fit out an elephant. A lot cheaper and a LOT more heavy duty than anything you can buy. I basically took the measurements off of a Sullivan chute, and built it out of pipe.

This is true for people without the ability. But then they don,t have the ability because maybe they have never tried.
Personaly I take great pride in building things and have saved a lot of money in the process. As far as material, scrap yards are a good resource. A coat of paint and you can,t tell it from new.
