Hubby is almost done cutting our malt barley and our thoughts are turning to weaning the calves and the next projects for the house.
After listening to his thoughts off and on for most of the summer I sat down and complied a list. I showed it to him last night and we have agreed upon it. Miracle huh HD? :lol2:
So once the harvest is finished and we wash out the grain truck, because malt barley itches like crazy, we are going to finish caulking the house. south, east and a 1/3 of the north sides are done.
Then following the new stain directions we mix bleach and water and spray the house down and then wash it off. Let dry for 4 days and then stain it.
After much discussions we are going to house wrap the gable ends and put up wood slats to keep the wind from ripping it off. Also going to put in a gable end vent on each end.
he's going to finish out the electrical. Just 2 lights left and the upstairs outlets. Then we are going to start on the plumbing. Get the vents run through the roof, sewer lines run and start laying out the water lines for the fixtures. looking at the PEX pipe.
Getting one of those attic ladders and we are going to put one in the office. Easy access.
He wants to sheet rock the upstairs ceiling and then put in insulation. I did some research and we would need around an R-60. So two layers of the R-30 should do it. Figure run it north and south then east and west.
I'm going to use my wages and buy the light fixtures I fell in love with.
Keep your fingers crossed for us on the 12th. What happens that day will decide if we can do all of this or not.
