it looks like a pine canker to me. (fusiform)

Pine Canker

Remove the branch at the trunk of the tree and dip the pruners you use in bleach after you are done to stop the spread of possible diseases if there are any to spread. Hopefully this will prevent for spreading down to the trunk and possibly causing a gall.
