Are catfish that size good to eat? I've read about giant catfish caught kept alive in water troughs and be fed corn for a while to wash the mud taste out.

What’s your tackle set up?

In Texas people noodle for giant catfish in underwater caves on banks of the Colorado. Just use bare arms. These usually end up in kept in cow troughs being fattened for a fish fry.

What’s your tackle set up?

Medium heavy hellcat rods. Penn squall 20 reels. Have 8 rods in the boat. 4 with 65 lb. Braid and 4 with 50 pound mono. All with 80 lb florocarbon leaders. For hooks I use diachii d85 circle hook in 7,/0 for blues, and Charlie brown circle in 10/0 for flatheads.

I’ve never caught big ones like that on a rod and reel, just on jug or trot lines. Man I bet that is some kind of fight on a rod!
