Flaked off half a big square of mixed grass for the cows. A toasty 5F, but the grounds frozen, and that's all right with me.

Looks like north MS today & tomorrow is worse. Pot out a bunch of hay Friday thinking would last bit it didn't. Hope the tractor cranks tomorrow.

From a couple hours ago.. 15deg temp wind of about 15mph = cold.

Nothing but sleet & frozen rain. Looks just like the ice in a slush puppy if you know what that is

Rain sleet freezing crap. Ground not frozen with nights in the upper 20's so mud everywhere. Had to cut the fence to get cows into another field because it is so slick can't get up the hill to feed in the 4wd JD big tractor... sliding sideways, and digging ruts halfway to china. Gonna be a PITA to try to fix.
Feel bad for y'all in TX and southern states.... at least we have trucks - plows - sanders -salters - to help handle it.
Son & crew @ VDOT have worked 5 straight nights so far, 12 hr shifts, while other half the crew works 12 hr days. Enough rainy/misty sleety stuff to make roads slick....

Would prefer snow here than this ice.
Cannot imagine the cold in TX.

It was white up on the ridge this afternoon. I was scouting for critter tracks. Only found a few deer and some old coyote tracks. There was a couple inches of new snow this morning. While we were feeding this morning it real put it down. Snowing hard enough that a person couldn't see more than a couple hundred feet.

Yeah last two days have been hot and humid but today is much better. As a kid i remember we would always be picking peaches in the hot humid weather and that is about as bad as it gets! I only have two peach trees now!!
