At the moment I'd call it reddish black. Be kool to see how it turns as it gets older.

This one of mine lacks the black nose. It's grey/brown.

I have several calves that color as well. Dark around the eyes makes it look like they have makeup or something haha

Agree with everyone she'll most likely get darker as she gets older. Here is a fall born calf that turned brindle, different sire.

@branxchar&charx , that is a good looking heifer you have there. She is BM crossed with what? Is your Angus bull homozygous for black?
The heifer, now cow lol, my guess is she's a BM/Char x but not for sure. I had a similar marked up calf a couple years ago from a BM cow and charolais bull. I thought the bull was homozygous black until this calf as all his other calves are either all black or bwf. But charx can definitely throw a surprise here n there. The bull is registered but i dont think tested for color, ill have to check.

Bessie and Sevens heifers were both kinda brindle. They sorted bessies off for color. They ran her in with 2 of my black heifers. Buyer wanted the blacks. The brindle/offcolor sold a lil cheaper tho. She was a better calf than Dapples bwf heifer too!
I sure thought Sevens was gonna be closer in color to her mama. Here she is..

I really.like the group of cows you've put together @branxchar&charx

I'm keeping a heifer back that is similar in color to Seven's heifer but mine has a white face. There's a handful of brindlr/tigerstripes. Theyre pretty look at and calves, most of the time, cone out solid colored.
