Anyone know about getting paid for stuff via paypal? Got a guy in texas that is wanting to buy something frmo me that way

I've had an account for years. buy and sell with it. when someone pays the moneys takes a few days to be available to transfer into your checking account and If I remember correctly there is a small fee when you transfer it.

In my experience you need to set up a paypal account and use one of your bank accounts or credit cards for a direct deposit. I haven't recieved a payment using PayPal for a while, the credit card account may not be allowed. Also seems like PayPal has a small charge to you for the service. They may hold funds for a,few days for some sort of security issue. Thinking about it as I type I'm really not positive about much, it is secure though. Best to just call PayPal with your questions, but does seem like there is a policy of holding funds. :?

Sorry not much help.

I've had an account for years, although I don't use it often. From my dealings with it you set it up using your email address. You can tie it into your bank account for making payments and receiving them. When you receive a payment it goes into your Paypal account and you have to manually move the money into your checking account. You can also set it up using a credit card to make payments. To use your bank account there is a verification process you go through. It usually involves Paypal making some small (pennies) deposit and you verifying the amount(s). There are fees involved. It may sound complicated but the process is really pretty simple. It's been a while but that's what I remember.

As long as it doesn't have to do with a firearm, The libs at paypal morally object to such things.... You aint thinkin of doing any of the below are you?????????
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.

I use it all the time.......My wife uses it for her business,,,a safe way to get paid and you are protected from fraud...down side is yes it does take a few days to get your money, but no bounced checks,,,they even accept credit cards to make payment to you...
I recommend if that is worth anything :)

I use paypal for my online business and it works great. It offers me protection from fraud as well as protection for the buyer.
Yes there is a fee, but the fee outweighs the protection you get. Confirmation of funds before you ship! That is a good thing.
Paypal does charge you if the transfer from them to your bank is under $250. So I usually just keep the monies there until it reaches the minimun transfer with no charges. The nice thing about that is, I like to read alot. So i can use my paypal account to buy books or ebooks on line.

They are VERY antigun! Other than that very reliable. I have used them to pay for stuff but never to be paid!

It works great as long as their is no dispute in the transaction--especially now that eBay owns paypal.
Tied or linked to a bank account, if Paypal gets a dispute from buyer, (seller refuses to refund $$ in a dispute) they can or will lock that account down completely (and any account linked to the primary account for overdraft protection) --or they used to when I used it. Lots of horror stories on the web about that sort of thing. I finally opened a small account all to itself not linked to any other and kept a small balance in it. Haven't used paypal in a couple of 3 years tho, so that may not be the case any longer.
