Pasture Question

I have some pasture that has not been touched since very early June. It's obviously gone to seed, the pasture is native grasses to SE Ohio & red clover I frost seeded this winter. We've had a nice wet summer & the grass has grown well, it's about waist high & is starting to turn golden. My question is should I just turn the cows out into it as is or should I brushog it?

I like grazing it first and letting them get the tender parts they will eat best. Then I bush hog whats left.

I'm of course not familiar with the conditions in Ohio, but I doubt if there is a really right or wrong answer. I would suggest that when you mow it, to not mow it too short.
