Any one know what this herbicide is? Will it work on serecia? Hoe does it compare in cost and effectiveness with Remedy?

Thanks

Sorry Dun. My computer is on the blink and I can't open adobe files. New computer will be here next week. Is it a dow chemical?

It is triclopyr + fluroxypyr
1.5#triclopyr ester and 0.5# fluroxypyr per gallon. On Sericea, apply at a rate of 1.5 to 2.0 pts per acre.
I'm not familiar with the cost. Not familir with Sericea either. I've used lots of triclopyr on woody species, worked very well.

FACT SHEET

New PastureGard™.
Get precision brush control.
Now there’s clearly a better way to kill hard-to-control brush. New
PastureGard™ herbicide gives you targeted control in your pasture,
rangeland or wherever unwanted brush and woody plants grow. Its
powerful chemistry combination gives you superior control, translocating
deep into the roots to kill even the toughest brush. Take out brush with
precision. New PastureGard – from the range and pasture leader.
Get superior control with a powerful
chemistry combination.
PastureGard contains two active ingredients, triclopyr
and fluroxypyr. In field research conducted by
Dow AgroSciences and university researchers, this
powerful combination has proven effective against
many brush species.
• Triclopyr (foliar active) translocates through the
entire plant, from top growth all the way down to
the root system.
• Fluroxypyr (foliar active) broadens the spectrum of
control. Plus, early research indicates it improves
herbicide uptake for faster control.
• Triclopyr and fluroxypyr are safe to
established grasses. However, drift to
nearby crops must be avoided.
Get several options for application
flexibility.
Use PastureGard as an individual plant treatment to
take out unwanted brush and woody plants.
• High-volume foliar: 1 to 2 gallons of PastureGard/
100 gallons of spray (1% to 2% v/v), plus 1 quart of
nonionic surfactant.

New PastureGard™ Herbicide
Product Profile
PastureGard™ herbicide is a 2-lb. ae/gallon formulation
containing 1.5-lb. ae of triclopyr ester and 0.5 ae of fluroxypyr.
Recommended Rates for
Sericea Lespedeza
Rate range: 1.5 to 2.0 pints/acre spray volume. The higher
labeled rates should be used for late-season applications,
older established stands or for longer-term control.
Treatment Timing
Early summer: Begin treatment when sericea lespedeza is a minimum of 8 inches tall. Treatment may
continue as long as plants are actively growing throughout the summer.
Early fall: Treatment may continue through September when plants are actively growing. The higher
labeled rate should be used late in the season due to the advanced growth stage of the plant.
Application Instructions
Adequate coverage is a key component of control for sericea lespedeza. For best results, apply 5 or more
gallons/acre spray volume by air or 20 or more gallons/acre spray volume by ground equipment.
Surfactants: Use of a nonionic surfactant at 1 to 2 quarts/100 gallons spray solution is recommended for all
sericea lespedeza treatments.
Note: PastureGard is also active on brush species, including blackberry, osage orange (hedge, bois d’arc)
and rose at rates from 3 to 4 pints/acre.

Remedy is triclopyr. Isn't it?
Here is remedy

MikeC -- At my closest supplier Pasturegard sells for $45.60 per gallon in a 2.5 gal. container. Probably a little cheaper if I was willing to drive another 10 miles to the "less proud" supplier that I use for all my Remedy purchases.

I recall somebody posting here about a couple of months ago that they had good results using Pasturegard for killing greenbriar --- if he or she is reading this please comment regarding the application rate used and whether or not it killed to the root, or just defolliated only to come back.
