Since some of us were talking about paints-here's a yearling heifer out of a Pring grandaughter and our Levi 6 son. No pampering or feeding on her other than some pellets after she was weaned. We're in our second year of drought, of course this year is much worse than last year. But I think she's a pretty good heifer.
 
Ohhhh, she's a nice one. The color is great...and I really love her head! :D

Very nice!! Looks like she's going to have lots of horn.

Is that an old picture or do you really have that much grass? We look like a putting green in our horse pastures.
 
That picture was made about two weeks ago but the grass is going down hill very fast since we've had no rain and temps in the high 90's. We were going to mow the fields but decided not to since we haven't been getting any rain. Thanks for the compliments on the heifer, she has a full sister on the ground right now that's more colored up than her. This heifer is one that we kind of want to hang on to but we have a dozen more that are for sale that are as good as her. Come to Tennessee and look at them, we'd love to have you.
 
We'd love to come visit you and your cows sometime, Rustler. In spite of the popular opinion of this board, we know there's nothing better than a Longhorn! :nod:
 
Solid looking heifer. something about her, dont know what it is, leads me to think she'll do very well in production... just has that look i guess

You said she was a yearling... do you know about what her horns were at right around 1yr?

I don't know what her horns measure-we don't measure most of them, have too many to try to keep up with that. I like to see horns past their ears at eight months. Her dam is a good, solid cow and her sire has done very well for us. He comes out of Owen McGill's breeding-rangy type cattle with good horns.
