Something in that made my "threat detector" thingwhatizt go off--- Sure a big generator..Are you going to stand out and get pictures???

Some guys have all the luck. The coolest things to go by house were the Olympic Torch and Bill Clinton's Presidential Motorcade. The torch was pritty cool, and the exwife liked Bill Clinton (go figure), but I would have traded them all for a project like that. Are they taking it out of a dam and putting it in another or did I just not read far enough.

We changed out two generators last fall and then two this spring. 28 axles with 8 tires on each but we only had them hauled to the rail head.

We bought a generator 8 years ago and had it hauled to the Mississippi. Then it came by boat to Corpus Christi. From there it took 36 days to haul it to our plant.

Had one similar come thru Bryan/CS back in Janurary......reported headed to Riesel, TX. (Don't know the accuracy of that).

"I was looking at it last night when it parked and as near as I can tell there are nearly 500 tires underneath that. I counted 488, and then maybe 32 possibly, Marrone said.

It came by at 2:35 this morning and I was sitting on the porch watching. It is parked about 5 miles east of here now. Traveling all night it will get only about 5 miles tonight. It goes through town so all the red lights are being taken down. The center of town is on a hill so rear of the trailer will have to be jacked up as it crosses the hill.
It was being pulled by a huge truck (1000hp) with 4 more trucks behind the generator pushing. There is 53 axles on the trailer/dolly's.
It came into Knoxville, TN on a barge and is going to a new coal and wood fired power plant about 50 miles east of here.
It takes up both east bound lanes of the hi-way so everything is closed going east unless you know another way around.
Looks like every state trooper is SW Virginia is here as escort.
I have been told the permits to move it cost 3 million and they had to put up a 15 million bond to take care of any damages to the bridges and road.

Not a lot of action around there, is there. :D :D :D

You never know, Kenny may have bought one of those fancy electric bug zappers. I hear those things are quite entertaining at night.
