Anyone with experience using an overseeder care to comment on their effectivness?
I am looking at an eight foot Brillion overseeder for pasture improvement.

If it's the brillion that has the spiked (kind of) rollers I've not had much luck with them unless the grass was grazed/clipped to the gound. The one I used kind of dribbles the seed infront of the roller the full width. Don;t know if they're all like that or not.

I know this is not what you are really talking about, but I have had good luck with one of those 3 point seeders that sling seed out about 20 foot.
What I usually do is run a disk lightly over the pasture then go back and sling the seed out while dragging a heavy cattle panel or chain. Worked good on clover and rye grass seed.
Good luck

Rocks are hard on them. I think they are much better suited to thin hay fields than pasture.
Seed depth setting is important.
You should weaken or disturb the sod before seeding.
You need to manage the canopy to get the inter seeding off to a good start.
If the summer is dry the inter seeding dies.
