Over seeding

We are getting ready to over seed some pasture, just adding a little diversity. The original plan was to broadcast and drag in but a lot of neighbors are just letting their cattle walk seed in. I know this is a fairly common practice at least around here it is but how well does it really work? Seems to me it would only work in a mob graze situation where there is a better chance of cattle reaching all areas of the seeded area.

This late , Id drag it , but keep in mind next year , just pitch a little seed around your bale ring or feeding area, if you move that is .
