Beautiful country and cattle as always and I love the color on that hay. Do you rope to brand the old fashioned way or work them all thru the chute?

We once drug calves but it got to be a circus with too many uninvited showing up for free beer and supper. My wife put her foot down when we had 60 people one year.
Now we use a table and five of us can do the same and better job as nothing gets missed.

Exactly the same reason we quit.
 
Last year we drug our calves to the fire, most of the guys didn't hang around afterwards. It turned to more of a mess. I guess those guys were having an off day because it took longer than it should have. Going to use the table this year.
 
Was at one on Wednesday it took all day to do 250. B said too many people and not enough help. There was literally one guy who rode into the pen with no rope, not a roper. Just riding around getting in the way. But I was at one on Friday that was just a clean up. There was 50 calves and just neighbors. We were done in a little under an hour. I was running the irons. 5 family brands. You need a pHD in branding irons to get this right.
