Well, we drug out our Feb bull, a Steel Force embryo bull we have been doing nothing with! He has been in a big pasture (4 acres), all by himself, eating lush grass and clover... and show season is about to begin so I thought we better bring him in and start working on him, so I gave him a bath today and the daughter clipped his head. He has been in one time since last fall, to get a yearling weight. We really like him, but have no use for him. We AI everything, or put in embryos. We did not sell this guy because we want to show him this year, but will be selling him in the fall. He has been a fun project, and is a good bull personality wise, but we have never dealt with a bull this age so we are new to keeping them beyond the yearling point. We have used him on 2 cows, that will be due in October/November, because we want to see what he throws. We will be collecting him so we can use him in the future. Anyway, he weighed in at 1560 today, not bad for 15 months. He was 80 pounds at birth.

I hear there is a gal in Tejas who could use a good Sim bull. Maybe you should make her a deal she cannot refuse.

He is looking really good! I would say he is ready to go "show" what he's got! ;-)
Have fun with him! I am sure you will keep us updated. :D

Fire Sweep, that's a nice stout young attractive bull. A little blaze and a bit more length, I would be bugging the heck out of you trying to buy him, lol. Especially if I hadn't just bought my Packin Heat son whom has a blaze, I'm really liking him. I Really love Steel Force and his progeny. They have great eye appeal and style. Enjoy the fun with him and best of luck.

You could sure do worse. She has a very solid program and produces some fine bulls.

Kris, his hip line could be a little longer. Is that a dip in his back? Why is his back-end smaller than his shoulders? Scrotum looks small but not in relationship to mine. I would prefer some white on his face. Someone else mentioned he is not long. His neck is what they call "shortistic" in these parts. And the lady holding him looks like she needs a sport bra.

 Really Ron? ;-)

I think he is actually longer than he looks in the first photo. We snapped that one, then the good camera died. So we broke out the Ipad to take a few more photos, and this is the best I could find. This other side shot, you see his length a bit better. I love his natural width, as my grandpa would say, he is built like a Mack Truck.

Are you saying that he has one side longer than the other Kris? I think he has plenty of length. He has what I like and that is lots of volume which is length x breadth x depth and when you get all 3 together that means plenty of weight however the length won't stand out and appear as obvious unless he is standing next to his peers.

Kris, of course, you know I am having fun. I am doing this for Highgrit, he thinks I am no fun anymore.

A lovely bull. I did look at his feet because you told me he gets a heavy course of grain. What is interesting is his feet look good. No extra growth and he stands up on his toe. I don't remember whether you told me he was trimmed when you had your other show stock trimmed.

3way, you're right Fire Sweep has some really nice cattle and a person could do much worse. The bull does look a lot longer in the second pic and even more impressive. Somebody gonna end up getting a really good bull. Maybe one day our schedules can line up, me needing a bull and her having another one. I usually don't have to go to Missouri to find one I like, but indeed they're nice :tiphat: .
