Just a reminder to everyone to be safe this spring season. Last week my 84 year old dad dropped a 5 yd. dirt scoop on his foot. He was hooking it up and had to jack it up a bit. It slid off the blocks. I guess after farming that many years he's entitled to a mistake. He crushed his foot pretty badly, but only broke 2 bones. He's just glad it wasn't his leg. The bad thing was he was behind the barn & no one could hear him yelling. After about 45 min. he finally he got my 4 yr. old's attention and she took care of getting help. He had dug a pretty good hole under his foot with his pocket knife. Just amazes me!

Does he have to hobble about with a cast on his foot now?
That can be very irritating.

He wore the splint from the ER for about a week, then the Dr. wrapped in an ace bandage for now. Dad wishes he had the splint back. He'll get a boot later, when he can start putting weight on it. Thanks for the concern.
