Osage County OK

Made it back from the Piedmontese Association Field Days that was held in Pawhuska Oklahoma. This was my first time to travel through that part of our country. Our event was held during the Osage Cattlemens Convention. Wow! I am still in awe of all I saw. Magnificent country with open ground as far as your eyes can see. Beautiful country, wonderful people. We toured six ranches and I have a whole new appreciation for how cattle are raised out that way. Had a great time!

CKC sounds beautiful. Crazy I know but I've been all over the world but never been into Oklahoma and it's probably less than 3 hours away. Gotta get my ol' bones up that way and see some of that pretty country.

It was absolutely amazing! Toured the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve too and saw bisons grazing and had a picnic lunch at the Headquarters. There was a ranch rodeo going on too. I didn't get to see all of it but sure enjoyed the ranch horse competition. There sure is a big mix of cattle breeds, I guess I expected to see all black out that way. Loved the campground we stayed at. A nice grove of trees with 12 full hook ups, drove thru a herd of beefmasters to get into the campground. Surely a trip I will remember!

I have always enjoyed Oklahoma and would like to retire there some day. Both my husband and I have family there. The tall grass prairie is a sight to see. It is a big part of my childhood. I was just in SE OK this weekend. Had a great time. Glad you enjoyed it.

I surely understand why you would want to go home to OK to retire. I was very impressed with all I saw.
