Optimizer Gel???

I am thinking about buying some optimizer gel this spring for calving. I was wondering if y’all have seen any benefits?

I think that he/she is referring to the enzyme past you can feed to newborns to help fend off scours.

I've never used it, but there's nothing on the label that would make me recommend it. First Defense Tri-Shield is worth its weight in gold.

Neither Optimizer nor First Defense are vaccines. Optimizer is a nutritional supplement, and First Defense is a source of antibodies.

First Defense Tri-Shield is worth its weight in gold.

Definitely pricey!!!! But $$$ well spent. I don't vaccinate the cows with Scour Bos (or whatever your preference) but can't remember the last time I had to treat a calf for scours that wasn't "fresh spring grass butt" and even then, rarely. Not 100% within the first 12 hours of birth but still beneficial.
