open cows

Taking a couple open cows to the sale this morning. One belongs to one of our daughters. She's a nice young cow, but didnt calve this spring despite the bulls being on them an extra month. The other is a 2002 cow that aborted her calf back in Jan. She lost a lot of weight and we've been waiting for her to gain it back. She's very nice looking for her age. She should bring a lot just for her size. At weaning we'll cull back most of our old cows, sell high buy low....i think its a good time to sell...

ive got 2 12yr old cows that i need to haul to the barn as they have yet to calve.plus a 12yr old pair that will be hauled this fall.i doubt if ill buy low.ill be lucky if i can get bred cows or heifers bought for less than $2700ea.

just looked at the video for the sale Emmons is having later this month on Cattle in Motion dang there are some pretty girls in that sale but I bet they are high

yeah steves cattle always sells high no matter what.i went to his ranch twice in 2007 with a buddy to get 2 bulls.and to pick up some reg bred heifers.and i havent been back since.most of his sales ave $5000 to $6000 a hd or more.

yeah I was thinking about going to the sale just to see what some of them fetch. There are some nice bred heifers pairs and 3 in 1s and a few good looking open heifers most of the sale is female not that many bulls but there are a few good ones. I wanted to go to the Crockett sale but was busy looked like some good girls in there. That sale they had in Brenham on 4-26-14 Swinging B took some nice girls down there but was busy then too.

swinging B knows cattle.i buy a bull from them every now and then.

they got a real nice yearling bull right now and I sure would of liked to have that S&W heifer they took to Brenham. Right now S&W is one of my favorite bulls would like to have a few of his heifers
