old hay make my hiefer sick

put out some of last yrs hay...and some of this yrs also.

25 month old hiefer 5 mos bred if the bull did his job. got some issues

anyways ive got one of my prized beefmaster hiefers thats got a unsteady gait...she will get up and run if ya git close tho. kinda being unsociable. havent seen her grazing or drinking. she poops when she runs off. its good looking plop but in smaller amts than i would think. i ran her into the pens where the hay is. the rest of the herd..the other 25 or so are doing fine. tearing up the hay.

idk ..she isnt coughing. wont go where i can trap her to git a temp. shes makin the rds of the 75 acres so shes moving round but reeeaal slow compared to the others.. isnt comin in to get the feed i throw to em everyday either. looks to be a bit thin but most of em do ..

im gonna call out the vet tomorrow if i can get her penned...i hate it when they got issues and wont come in. they come n for feed....gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You're gonna have to pen her one way or the other even if its for the vet and it seems you've had issues trying to pen your animals before. If you feed in the pens they get used to going in. Most all anyway. Good luck with it one way or the other. Merry Christmas Gary

Might be the hay but I am betting it is not

Rig your water so they have to go through the pens to drink - they can go without food but not water

Saves a lot of grief

thank you, it always seems like when they got issues they wont come in. ill git her tommorrow. i alwats feed in the pens cory, they goota go thru 6 panels deep past the gate..they just wont go....movin the water aint so easy bez. i got 2 ponds. one in ea pasture.
i kind dont think its the hay either cuz none of the others are bad off.

idk if any of yall know bout the dog issues i got..but they have threatened my animals. turn em loose..shoot em..ya know..all that white trash crap...but funn how right after all this latest altercation ive got a sick hiefer..man shes one of my most prized purebreds too dammit..so i gotta git the vet out asap...

I hope you get it figured out quick Gary. I doubt that they could have done anything to her that would affect her gait but..... My experience is that loudmouths usually are all bark no bite. You're going to have to deal with it at some point no matter what. And when that pont comes I doubt they do squat.

Arm her is the only way to know Gary. If you have a hard time catching her up I could come over and kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. I got nothing going on today

penned her for a cpl days..good hay. clean water/rested up..shed doin better. was gonna give her some penn but didnt...shes ok looks like now
