Don't get on here much anymore. Sold all the cattle and starting to sell off the farm. Anyway daughter sent over some pics I've been looking for.
Here's one of a FullBloodLimi that is very old school, out of Colorado 150 .The type of animal that Limousine quit breeding. This type of animal was great for the F-1 Brangus cows that were in my pastures. Here he is at 14 months old ... So tear him up

Zero milk, tight ribbed, sauce slides right off, but I prefer baby back ribs anyway. :)
Actually some of the full blood daughters would milk. Milk was something I didn't care about I wasn't keeping daughters.. I wanted something with a small birthweight and explosive growth and the ability to clean up the ears and extra skin on Brahman based cattle.. Ol school Limousine knocked that out of the box. Only a Fullblood Chi Bull could clean em up anybetter
That's how a limi should look. Someone done a good job of dehorning.

Actually breeding got the horns, he was out of a Hatley polled fullblood daughter .

He did grow into a significant butt, however it was never applebutted. Hopefully daughter will send over some more pics of bulls, and I should have a pic of him as a 3 year old.

I would like to see him with his head up- or is his topline always like that?

We had limos when I was growing up- 25 year ago. I really liked them then but the cows always went after my dad specifically but also any other men in the pasture. Two in particular- mother/daughter- ran him up a tree on occasion (and the neighbor once).

We don't put up with cows like that now but they put off huge calves back then. My dads old records showed 750-800 lb weaning weights but not how old they were at weaning.

Frenchies screwed us over with some of the cattle the peddled over here. I'm not saying you won't find a crazy limo anymore but the bad dispositions of the past are few and far between from what they were, same is true of all breeds.

Will see if I have another pic. He was in knee deep mud in all these pictures

You are very correct, the Frogs laughed their ass off on the poor gentics that came to the USA. What was it about 150's that you didn't like?

They tend to rather tall and not very deep, also the 150s have a very distinctive head that i don't care for. The cows do milk good though. There are plenty of other old bulls i'd use before 150
