Ok it can rain now.

I just put out about 75 units of nitrogen per acre on 6.5 acres.
I am hoping to kickstart the field so I can get a cutting in about a month of the costal bermuda and bahia field.

We have been getting rain here on a regular basis for the last couple of weeks so I am hoping it will continue.

Please oh Please let it rain.

alabama,

No army worms here, yet.

In normal years, during the Labor day weekend, I would have planted the food plots on my hunting property over in Cleburne County, but I have decided to wait until the 1st of October. The year before last I was lucky, the army worms hit the food plots withing 1/2 mile on 3 sides of me but didn't get to me.

Rod,
I am doing the same for my pasture planting (waiting until Oct-1) I have a 5 acre field of Millet that I want to plant and I have 7 heifers on it now and I will bush hog it down the last week of this month and then plant it with rye and oats. I do hope we keep getting the rain also. I wanted to bring the heifers back to this field in Nov because they were all due to calve then and I could keep an eye on them better. I dont think the rye or oats will be up enough by then to let them on it though.

Last week we rec'd 1/2" of rain. So far today, we have rec'd a bit over 1" and it still raining lightly. The rain i sexpected to continue til morning. This ought to jumpstart the grass so I'll get a light third cutting this year.
